RSI-Relief was originally launched in April 2005. Though the site had gained a bit of a following, it was never quite as successful as I’d hoped.

I eventually realized that the original format — links to articles and other sites, plus a blog — was just not going to be enough. I judged the blog section of the site to be the most useful and popular, and so I have redesigned the site to make the blog front and center — rather than just being one section of the site, now it is the site, with the links as an adjunct, rather than the centerpiece.

Unfortunately, there’s no way to make a change like this completely seamless — some features of the old site are gone, or have moved — but I’ll do my best to make the transition as painless as possible for longtime readers, as well as welcoming for new visitors.

So if you see something broken, please let me know; likewise if you have any suggestions for making the site more useful.

Though the site has been redesigned, the fundamental mission of the site — to inform people about all aspects of Repetitive Strain Injury – remains, and I hope to improve the site over time, and make it an authoritative resource for RSI sufferers seeking help with their affliction.

Included are all the currently available publications I could find, covering the following topics:

Books about Repetitive Strain Injury

Books about Carpal Tunnel Syndrome

Books about Ergonomics

The “related conditions” section includes works about topics such as Fibromyalgia, Myofascial Pain, Thoracic Outlet Syndrome, Trigger Points, Stretching, and Exercises.

With so many books available, its impossible to be familiar with them all, but the ones that I own include:

It’s Not Carpal Tunnel Syndrome! RSI Theory & Therapy for Computer Professionals – Perhaps the best introduction for someone wanting to learn more about RSI.

End Your Carpal Tunnel Pain Without Surgery – Some RSI background info, as well as exercises and advice on setting up your workstation.

ErgAerobics: Why Does Working @ My Computer Hurt So Much? – Lots of good illustration and photos related to exercises and stretches to help prevent and treat RSI.

The Repetitive Strain Injury Recovery Book – An excellent RSI reference, now sadly out of print.

The Repetitive Strain Injury Handbook: An 8-Step Revovery and Prevention Plan – The plan includes diagnosis, nutrition, stretching, exercise, and pain management. Also out of print.

As the name suggests, the RSI-Relief blog will contain information about how to find relief for RSI (Repetitive Strain Injury) symptoms. If you currently experience RSI pain, are worried that you may be in danger of doing so, or are just an interested observer, this blog is for you.

The RSI-Relief blog will feature RSI-related news culled from all over the world. This includes medical news, new product announcements, and RSI stories from the mainstream media outlets.

This blog is also to place where you’ll find news about the RSI-Relief.com web site itself — new features, improvements, changes, and additional content.

Finally, this blog will contain personal stories and opinions. As someone who has lived with RSI symptoms for many years, I’ve learned a lot about RSI and developed my own strategies for dealing with it. Over time, I’ll be sharing these, in the hope that my experiences can help others live better with RSI.
